Fashion and Textile Show

Students studying fashion and textile design at the University of Ulster's Faculty of Art and Design are to put some of their work on display at the Interpoint centre.
The work on show has to be part of either the degree or diploma course, both of which aim to give the students the creative ability and technical skill to begin a career in industry.
Among the collections on show will be:
Knitwear inspired by the Japanese kimono and designed by a student from Whiteabbey;
Garments inspired by the 'provocative sex kittens of the past' and designed by a student from Greenisland;
Fashion prints designed for the Summer 1999 market by a student from Portadown;
Performance sportswear designed by a student from Strabane;
Evening/occasional wear for the Autumn/Winter by a student from Fivemiletown;
Fashion accessories for evening wear designed by a student from Bangor;
Drapes and household accessories designed by a student from Londonderry; and
Tablecloths and printed fabrics for restaurants designed by a student from Cookstown.
