Conference organizer Dr Dolores O'Reilly said: "This event will give business and civic leaders unique insights into ways in which the economic world is changing and how our society and economy must change with it if the North West is to grow and prosper in the next millennium.

"Participants will have a priceless opportunity to network with and learn from some of the world's most effective and innovative entrepreneurs.

"Perhaps more important in the long run, the conference will provide an occasion to highlight the attractions of the region for overseas investors seeking a base for their business within the huge single market of the European Union."
