Getting the Money In
5th May 2000
The University is to offer a unique one day course in what may be the most important aspect of all in business: 'getting the money in'.
Many businesses, whether they are large or small, flounder because they cannot get people to pay their bills: they cannot get what it is owed to them.
This one-day seminar will be given by Ernie Craig, a senior consultant from the Business and Training Services section of Dun and Bradstreet. Mr Craig is a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Management.
The purpose of the seminar will be to help businessmen and women reduce the value of their debtors’ ledger and make available more much-needed working capital:
"Working capital is the very core of business and the lifeblood of trading, yet we generally find that a greater share of it finds its way into the debtors’ ledger where it is largely beyond our control and certainly not available for use.
"To maintain that working capital it is often necessary to invest or borrow money and yet we are likely to have in our debtors’ ledger our largest asset. The most cost effective way to add to working capital is to reduce the value of debt and thereby create more available funds, all within our own sources," he said.
The course will be held on Thursday 25 May in Jordanstown. For further details contact Sharon Adams, 028 9036 6680.
