Unique Careers Directory And Website Launched Today

24th October 2002

Graduates in search of employment will have to look no further than the new gradireland careers directory and website at www.gradireland.com, to find their perfect job.

Launched today (Thursday), the gradireland directory and its associate website, gradireland.com, identifies work and study opportunities with employers and course providers in Ireland.

Graduates can see at first hand the widest selection of jobs available and businesses can snap up the brightest talent. The directory and website also offer advice and information from higher education professionals on issues such as CV writing or working abroad.

Speaking at the launch, Chair of the Association of Graduate Career Services in Ireland (AGCSI) and Senior Careers Advisor at the University of Ulster, Mr Damian McGivern said:
“gradireland and gradireland.com are unique careers products. For the first time, students anywhere in Ireland, Great Britain, or further afield, will be able to research employers throughout Ireland and explore suitable vacancies. They will also be able to find out about postgraduate courses and will be kept informed of major events such as the Northern Ireland Graduate Fair.

“This publication and website is a significant development in the efforts to support graduate recruitment in local industry and commerce. For the first time they bring together tailored materials to support vacancy notification, job searching, postgraduate opportunities and career planning.

“Graduates are a vital resource in facilitating economic regeneration in Northern Ireland. Gradireland and its associate website provide employers with a simple cost effective means of promoting their organisation to graduates. In an increasingly competitive market for skilled labour, these products have a crucial role to play in supporting Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in their efforts to recruit the brightest and best graduates.”

Gradireland is the only directory and website officially endorsed by higher education careers services throughout Ireland, north and south.
