Critical Accolade For UU Art Expert

UU art expert Professor Liam Kelly has been elected a Vice-President of the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). He received the honour at the annual General Assembly of the AICA in Paris.
Liam. who is Professor of Irish Visual Culture in the School of Art and Design, has held the position for two previous terms of office (1987 – 90, 1996 – 99). He has been an active member of AICA since 1980, reading papers at several of their congresses, chairing congress sessions and a member of various subcommittees.
During his term of office as President of the Irish Section of the AICA Professor Kelly successfully bid for and organised the 1997 AICA congress in Belfast and Derry.
