UU Set To Host All-Ireland E-Learning Conference
18th December 2002
An all-Ireland conference exploring the future of e-learning is set to be hosted by the University of Ulster early next year.
The conference aims to raise awareness of the benefits of using on-line technologies in supporting learning, teaching and assessment.
Key themes will focus on the creation, support and development of the e-learning community and guest speakers will include Professor Clive Mulholland, Director of Life Long Learning at the University of Ulster.
Professor Mulholland said: “Online technologies are transforming how we learn. The Internet enables flexible high quality learning to be delivered independent of time and place. The key to the successful exploitation of these technologies will be the development of appropriate skills by staff and the willingness of institutions to embrace the new challenges posed by online technology.
“This conference will give attendees an opportunity to see how technology can be levered to best effect to enable Northern Ireland to compete in a rapidly growing global education market.”
