The School of Art and Design at the University of Ulster is set to stage its final year degree and Masters students’ show this week. The annual event will provide the opportunity to view work by graduating students from the Fine and Applied Arts, Textiles and Fashion Design, Visual Communication and Masters Courses. It has become an important date in collector’s diaries with many students from previous shows selling their entire collections throughout the week. A number of awards will also be presented to outstanding students at the preview on Monday evening. Professor Hilary Robinson, Head of School said: “This is an important event for all of the students as it gives them the opportunity to exhibit the work they have produced during their final year in Art and Design. “It also gives the artistic community a first glimpse of up and coming talent and provides a platform for designers and artists to be recognised in their own right.” Prize giving followed by a preview of the annual student show will take place at the University of Ulster’s Belfast campus, York Street on Monday 31st May 2004 at 5.30pm. The show continues from 10am-4pm, Tuesday to Thursday. Members of the public are welcome to attend and admission is free. School Homepage: www.arts.ulster.ac.uk/artdesign
