Students swell coffers of MS Charity

Two of the PhD students who took part in the fundraising - Laura Nicholl (left) and
Dianne Liddle (right) are joined by well-wishers including Norman Young
from the Faculty of Business and Management (second left).
Students from the University of Ulster put their best foot forward to raise more than £3,000 for the Multiple Sclerosis charity.
The students, all doing PhD courses at the Health and Rehabilitation Sciences Research Institute at the Jordanstown campus collected the money following a gruelling sponsored climb of Slieve Donard in the Mournes, and a marathon five-hour non-stop exercise session at the University’s Mall.
The two events raised the magnificent sum of £3,269.64 ,and the students later paid tribute to all who contributed to their fund raising efforts.
That included the University, the Sports Centre, the Physical Resources department, O’Brien’s sandwich bar, the UUJ Ulster Bank branch, staff and members of Glentoran FC, J Quinliven of Childlink, Maurice Lynn Motors, Colin Creagmile, staff and students and Domnall McComish, their guide on the Mourne climb.
