Fellowship For Educationalist

Ms Sandra Griffiths


Ms Sandra Griffiths, 55, senior lecturer in the School of Education has been awarded a Distinguished Teaching Fellowship by the University of Ulster.

 

A native of Belfast, Ms Griffiths has built a distinguished career in the field of education, as a respected researcher and author. The Distinguished Fellowship award recognises her outstanding contribution to teaching and learning in higher education.

 

Educated at Stranmillis University College and the University of Bath, Ms Griffiths joined the then Ulster Polytechnic in 1978 as a lecturer in education, becoming a senior lecturer in 1989, and Director of the Educational Development Unit from 1995-2002.

 

President of the All-Ireland Society for Higher Education, and a member and accreditor of the Higher Education Academy, she is a contributor to numerous publications in her field.

 

She is married with one son and lives in Belfast.
