Winter Graduations Continue at UU
The University of Ulster’s Winter Graduation ceremonies today move to the Millennium Forum, Londonderry.
Today, students from the Faculties of Arts, Business and Management, Engineering, Social Sciences, and Life and Health Sciences will be presented with their degrees and diplomas by the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ulster, Professor Richard Barnett.
Fiona Shaw will receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (DLitt) at the morning ceremony, in recognition of her contribution to the theatre and education. She will be presented her degree by Professor Robert Welch, Dean of the Faculty of Arts.
Stephen Rea will receive the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (DLitt) at the afternoon ceremony, in recognition of his services to theatre and the arts. He will be presented his degree by Professor Martin McLoone, School of Media and Performing Arts, Faculty of Arts.
In addition, special honours will be awarded to:
Senior Distinguished Research Fellowship - Professor David Sturdy
Senior Distinguished Research Fellowship - Professor Martin McGinnity
Distinguished Community Fellowship - Mr Paddy Gray
Distinguished Teaching Fellowship - Dr Tara Moore
