Students Shell Out For Toy Appeal

Big-hearted students at the University of Ulster's Magee campus are playing Santa Claus to local children. The students, all residents of Duncreggan Student Village, bought £300 worth of toys for the NCPPCC/Junior Chamber Christmas Toy Appeal. The money for the gifts was collected by the Resident Assistants in the Village in just two nights. The Head of Residential Services, Gareth Kennedy said “This highlights the students commitment to make a contribution to the local community by organising and contributing to such a worthy cause. “It also indicates students willingness to contribute to those less well off than themselves at this time of good will. It builds on the good work and strong ties that exist with the local residents association which resulted in an Open Night at the Village and the Xmas Carol Service in Christ Church.”
