Exhibition Highlights History Of Irish Language In Belfast

An exhibition on the history of the Irish Language in Belfast has been launched at Belfast City Hall.
The display, commissioned by Foras na Gaeilge, was compiled by Dr Fionntán de Brún, lecturer in Irish at the University of Ulster and Dr Eamon Phoenix, Stranmillis University College.
The exhibition was launched at a gala dinner hosted by Belfast City Council in the City Hall as part of its ongoing centenary celebrations.
Foras na Gaeilge plans to display the exhibition in venues throughout Ireland, including the University of Ulster in the New Year.
Photographs from the exhibition are also included in Belfast and the Irish Language, (Four Courts Press), edited by Dr de Brún.
