Dr Ady Moore will share the secrets of his spinout success at a lecture on the Coleraine campus this week.

Dr Moore, a lecturer in the School of Environmental Sciences and managing director of spinout company Causeway Data Communications Ltd, will present: This time next year – Rodney! Personal experience and lessons learned from spinning-out of UU. 

Dr Moore was awarded a University of Ulster Business Fellowship in 2005. The University makes such awards to a select number of distinguished academic staff in recognition of their outstanding commitment to outreach activities and links with industry. 

His presentation will address a variety of key issues for spinout companies including: 

• Developing a vision and strategy
• Moving from a service to product base
• Changing from being technology-led to market-led
• Dealing with the everyday practicalities of starting, funding and growing a Tech Transfer business from scratch.
