Distinguished Business Fellowship: Mr Justin Magee

Justin Magee, Senior Lecturer in Product Design in the School of Creative Arts, has been awarded a Distinguished Business Fellowship.

A member of the Art and Design Research Institute and Coordinator of Academic Enterprise for the Arts, Justin has held many positions of responsibility in the University, including Acting Director for the Art and Design Research Institute (2005) and is currently a member of eight University committees and working groups. he is based at Ulster's Magee campus.

Educated at the University of Ulster and Coventry University, Justin has been a technical mentor for NORIBIC Technology signpost programmes and the Western Innovation Network, mentor for the Creative Link initiative and deliver on the Invest NI Design Development Programme.

He has worked as a product designer since 1995, bringing his expertise to bear on over 65 projects for major international firms in automotive, consumer products, engineering, medical products sectors and more. Examples include the body panels for the MCC Smart car, bumpers for the Mercedes M Class, the instrument panel for the Audi A2, new product concepts for LEGO systems Denmark and the HugX pet dining products.

Justin is married to Sinead and has a one year old son – Tom. To relax, he enjoys kickboxing and mountain biking.
