Professor Greg Lloyd, Head of the School of Built Environment at the University of Ulster, has been awarded distinguished professorial membership of the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH).

CIH Northern Ireland Director, Grainia Long, said: “In a relatively short period of time, Professor Greg Lloyd had made an invaluable contribution to the housing and planning systems in Northern Ireland, both of which are vital to the well-being of communities. Greg’s involvement in the Commission on the Future for Housing and in advising government on planning reform will help shape the future direction of policy in locally, and hopefully lead to positive outcomes for all citizens of Northern Ireland.

“CIH represents people from right across the housing sector throughout the whole of the UK and we take pride in being able to recognise individuals who have made a significant contribution to our sector. CIH is pleased to present this award to Greg in recognition of his significant and much valued contribution to the housing and planning sectors in Northern Ireland.”

Professor Lloyd said: “I am deeply honoured to receive this award and I truly look forward to continue my engagement with the housing and planning communities at this time of considerable change, challenge and opportunity in Northern Ireland.”
