25K Award 2008
The 25K Award for New Entrepreneurs kicks-off for the eighth year.
With a top prize of £10,000 and additional prize money totally a further £15,000, the 25K business plan competition was set-up to encourage students, researchers and staff to explore their entrepreneurial potential.This year a two-page submission is all that is required to sell your concept to first round judges.
Entrants will be provided with invaluable resources crucial to successful entrepreneurship including networks of investors, mentoring by seasoned professionals and education in specific business planning skills. The competition is open to students and staff from the University of Ulster, QUB and research staff members of Health and Social Care (HSC) Innovations.
Information seminars are being held at the University of Ulster throughout the week of 10-14th March 2008 as follows:
Coleraine campus at 13:00 in room H215 on 10 March (includes HSC Innovations)
Magee campus at 13:15 in room MI022 on 11 March
Jordanstown campus at 13:00 in room J1519 on 13 March
Belfast campus at 13:00 in room 82C02 on 14 March
Each information seminar will cover changes in the award structure and will involve representatives from the award co-ordinators, the Northern Ireland Science Park (NISP) and NICENT.
NICENT is also facilitating teams in cross-faculty collaboration and in linking up with a new partner in the £25K Award this year, HSC innovations.The 2008 25K Award for New Entrepreneurs is sponsored and supported by NICENT and coordinated by NISP.
